This month’s November Exclusive release presents a glimpse into the creation of my SoundQuest Fest set as well as two pieces that resonate with the feeling in the air right now as we transition towards the internal realms as the seasons shift.

Carving the Quest
This piece documents the behind the scenes process of creating my set for the 2021 SoundQuest Fest concert. The emotional soul tone and development of themes and progressions of Movement 2 is revealed here. It was recorded about 2 weeks before the concert was performed and filmed. This represents just a fragment of the hours upon hours of exploring and mapping out of the set that you would eventually hear that night. Carving the Quest speaks to the ineffable confluence of emotion woven from one’s memories, longing, loss, love and the fleeting nature of time passing through our hands like sand.

The Tranquil Return
Over the past few weeks, I have been caressing this piece into it’s present form. Personal epiphanies abide here. The foundational sonic DNA of this piece lives in a few different versions over time and you might feel the shadows of this somewhere in the body of my past work. This particular immersion includes a fretless bass track that I performed along with other subtle shadings. I consider this piece unfinished as it will continue to evolve over time and you will be the first hear this evolution as it occurs. This is for Flint who now lives on the other side but whom I know is always here in full support.

The Light Of Fall
The main opening atmospheric zones were discovered within the session for Long Thoughts. These zones were mapped in an earlier version and eventually were not used in the final release of Long Thoughts. The Light Of Fall was created over the last few weeks of November 2021.
