nowtraveller Man oh man I can really feel the 80's coming through on these tracks. listening as I write this. I'm on track 3 which right now is a fav. Big synth was the thing back then. I was into it all with the whole "New Wave" movement of music. From Jarre to Shultz and into the world of Depeche Mode and Bauhaus etc. I mean I listened to it all and thank God I had an eclectic upbringing. What does TBC stand for?

Greetings exclusive friends… The wayback machine is about to liftoff... We are going back 34 years to 1986!

The destination here is the Trans-Sonic Music Festival a two day Festival held 30-31 May 1986 in The Harrison Auditorium (of The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology), Philadelphia. The Festival was presented by John Diliberto and Kimberly Hass. I was the headlining performer on the Saturday night concert.

Two pre show notes: Since this original recording was on cassette, the limitations of this medium and the age of the tape will be revealed. Also this is of a time when bold melody and drama were part of the live sets, a young man mapping out the course and going for it, just a heads up!

This was my first big concert engagement on the east coast of the US so you can imagine the energy was high. It was an undertaking that was normal for the day but no less daunting.

Show up at the airport and fly the entire studio to somewhere and do a full on analog concert. I flew out a complete Oberheim System - OB8 synth, DSX sequencer, DMX drum machine, Arp 2600, 2 Arp Sequencers, Roland SH3A, Oberheim XK controller keyboard, (the Xpander was obtained in PA) and other things things I can’t recall. This approach would continue all the way up to 2002 as I continued to perform in US, Canada, Europe, Mexico and beyond yearly from 1990 through 2002.

This music is centered around the period of Traveler, Western Spaces, Stormwarning and Empetus. You will also hear also hear the first murmurs of Dreamtime Return elements coming into form well before the project was born. I will let the music speak for itself in terms of the emotion, composition and the set flow.

By this point in the early 80’s I had performed all over California and in New Mexico over a 6 year period. Endless hours were logged in building sets, rehearsing and playing live solo electronic music concerts all along with the studio work and while trying to make a living and support the serious gear needs. This formative time built the deep connection to these instruments and most importantly the evolution of my music. Hope you enjoy a little bit more of this history. To be continued….
